Chambray for Spring

Welcome to A Quirky Twist! If you’re not into college basketball then you probably don’t know about the greatest rivalry in college sports: Duke vs. UNC. And on Saturday night UNC beat Duke and as is tradition we rushed Franklin St., you can see just how crazy it was here. Also Michael Jordan was in town and although I didn’t get to see him in person it was cool just to be in the same vicinity as him. Spring break starts Friday which means its time to start making spring outfit posts. Today’s outfit is a cute transitional piece, also don’t mind the wrinkles it was delivered right as I was leaving to take pictures.

Recreate This Look

Dress: Old Navy-out of stock (cute chambray dress here)

Shoes: Target-old (cute alternative here)

Lipstick: Maybelline-Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick 35 Rebel Red

Necklace: Kay

I’ve always thought denim/chambray dresses and skirts were really cute for spring. This year I decided to get one for myself and see what the hype was really about. The light blue of the chambray makes it easy to pair shoes and accessories with because everything matches. I went with these light brown wedge heels I got last year, and I think it was a good combination. I also like the subtlety of my penguin necklace, but I also think a bright colored statement necklace would look just as cute. I love the pop of color my bright red lipstick adds to the look, but I think a pink lip would look just as cute.
